How do I volunteer?

This part of our site will firstly look at why you may wish to become a volunteer & and then show you how easy it is to do so with us!

So how do I become a volunteer? This step by step guide below will show you!

Step 1

Think about what you might be able to give others and what you might be able to get out of it yourself. Choose something you like doing or want to learn to do. Also choose whether want to work with people, an issue or an organisation you care about. Then decide how much time you can afford each week.

Step 2

Find an organisation that needs your help. The easiest way to do this is to visit us where you will learn about the wide variety of volunteering opportunities in the area.

Step 3

The Volunteer Bureau can then arrange informal visits to organisations you are interested in. This gives you the chance to learn about them and for them to meet you. Then we will probably be asked to fill in a simple application form, references may be taken and you will be invited back to the organisation for more detailed discussions.
